Kiterush Dakhla
Kiterush Dakhla is operating in West Saharan Morocco,
22 km north of the Tropic of Cancer on a peninsula on the edges of the Sahara
desert.
The immense flat water lagoon, created by the strip of land wrapping round
the coastline, spreads for 50 km amidst mind blowing backdrops of the Sahara.
The wind blows all year round 17- 35 knots and the temperature stays around
28°C all year.
The flat water lagoon is home to dolphins, whales, flamingos and a huge variety
of marine life. It is the perfect place to start kitesurfing and it is kiteable
in any wind direction. The winter months bring on additional up to 12 ft.
high waves on the Atlantic Ocean side of the lagoon to challenge the more
experienced riders.
There are also opportunities for sand boarding and camel rides in the desert,
dolphin and whale watching, big game fishing and 4x4 action all within a short
drive.
Accommodation can be booked either directly on the lagoon in camp sites providing
traditional Saharan tents with toilets and showers, or in the city of Dakhla
in a western-style 4-star hotel, about a 15 min. drive away from the lagoon.
In both camps and hotel you can enjoy healthy fresh traditional moroccan cuisine
with fish and meat tangines.
Dakhla city has an airport which is operating daily or weekly flights from
Casablanca, Agadir and Canary Islands
